Arty Farty Friday ~ Pollock

Jackson Pollock was born on
28 January 1912 in Cody, Wyoming. Pollock’s art is very much an acquired taste. From biographical notes, and from the movie, Pollock, it appears that he was a veritable poster boy for zodiac sign Aquarius. His natal Uranus, modern ruler of Aquarius, is very close to his Aquarius Sun – just barely in Capricorn, in the last minutes of the sign, and his Sun is at 7.31

Arty Farty Friday ~ Cindy Sherman

Happy Birthday, Cindy Sherman! As her birthday this year has fallen on Arty Farty Friday, I’m re-airing a post I wrote about her work in May of 2010.
It was tricky finding a photograph of the real Cindy Sherman, which is odd really, because almost all her best-known photographs feature just….herself. Having studied many pages of her photographs, on-line, I’m left with an impression of her as

Arty Farty Friday ~ Arnold Friberg

Here’s my post, edited slightly to reflect the artist’s

Arty Farty Friday ~ Gilbert C. Stuart & Jupitarian Excess

Last Friday I looked again at the careers and natal charts of two painters whose natal Suns lay in Sagittarius, Edvard Munch and Toulouse Lautrec. There are archived posts about two others, Otto Dix and Georges Seurat HERE and HERE. A keen astrology fan might enjoy comparing their charts and their personalities – as far as we can know them from this distance in time and space.

The Archer, The Fishes, and Their Boss: Jupiter.

The Sun is currently romping through zodiac sign Sagittarius once again. What follows is an edited version of something I came up with for Sagittarius (and sister-sign Pisces) years ago. I still enjoy reading and refreshing the information; perhaps other passing readers, who haven’t seen it before might like to do so….

Sagittarius and Pisces are traditionally both ruled by planet Jupiter.

Music Monday – for Lancashire

Wikipedia tells us that today, 27 November is Lancashire Day, in the UK. Lancashire is a county in the north-west of England.
Lancashire Day is the county day of historic Lancashire in England. It is held on 27 November to commemorate the day in 1295 when Lancashire first sent representatives to Parliament, to attend the Model Parliament of King Edward I. I’m a Yorkshire gal, a northerner, but
