Full Moon in Scorpio, April 26, 2021

It’s going to be a very muddy Full Moon at 07° 06′ Scorpio on 26 April 2021, 08:32 PM PDT. All the fire present at the New Moon in Aries has disappeared and we have an abundance of earthy Taurus instead. Scorpio Full Moons are typically intense affairs and this one is no exception. While the surface may seem placid, there is a powerful undertow at work.

We still have four planets in Taurus including the Sun, Mercury, Venus and Uranus. Mercury and Venus both make a waning square to Saturn in Aquarius while the Sun conjoins Uranus. Taurus is noted for keeping a level head with both feet firmly planted on the ground, and the surface calm reflects this. Naturally Uranus in Taurus is the pot stirrer, and the square to Saturn in Aquarius doesn’t help matters. What this Full Moon in Scorpio does is offer us an opportunity to gauge where we are in our personal process dealing with issues raised by the Saturn-Uranus square. What we may have considered essential values based on what we learned growing up might no longer apply. We need to remember to give ourselves plenty of recovery time as we adjust to the new configurations in our lives.

The Scorpio Moon herself benefits from a trine to Mars in Cancer. While we’ll need to tap into our intuition and exercise our emotional intelligence rather than straightforward logic and reason, this energy is quite good for planning and executing our next step towards our goals. Since the Scorpio Moon is also opposing Uranus in Taurus (as well as the Taurus Sun), it might help to seek common ground rather than emphasizing differences. As much as it pains fixed Scorpio and Taurus, the tried and true methods probably won’t be as effective as using newer, more innovative ones.

Scorpio’s ruler, Pluto, is stationing retrograde the day after the Full Moon at 26° 48’ Capricorn while closely semi-sextile to Jupiter in Aquarius. This will likely add a little more intensity to the Scorpio Full Moon experience and we may need to be careful about giving into the temptation to completely step away from our old lives. Jupiter adds a touch of luck to the whole process.

We can be thankful Neptune in Pisces is sitting this lunation out. There is enough going on without the type of confusion Neptune can add to any given situation!

One of the best things we can do as individuals on the Full Moon in Scorpio is be gentle with ourselves. It is too easy to go to extremes right now and make choices we might regret down the road. Build in a grace period before making final decisions. Mercury will be shifting into flexible Gemini about a week after the Full Moon and we should be able to see more options again.

Scorpio Full Moons are always cathartic which helps clear away the old debris so we can begin the healing process once more. Everyone has Scorpio somewhere in their natal chart as well as Scorpio’s co-rulers, Mars and Pluto. Those placements can provide clues as to what impact this Scorpio Full Moon will have. Time to take a step back from our obsessive side and seek a more neutral stance to observe what’s happening in our lives and society as a whole. There is no better time to focus on practicing kindness, patience and tolerance. Peace and love to all.

Note: Timing is averaged for EDT to PDT.

Scorpio Full Moon April 26

Scorpio Full Moon

April 26, 8:31pm PDT

During 2021 Saturn squares Uranus three times.  The first aspect was  on Feb 17.  The next aspect is on June 14 and then the final round is on December 23.      The energy of these two planets will be felt all year and it highlights areas that need change and areas that are stuck.   Those of us with planets between 7 and 13 degrees of Aquarius, Taurus, Leo and Scorpio are feeling this tension in a real, deep, rumble our gut ways.

The Full moon at 7 degrees Scorpio and Taurus is right in the center of this tension.   There will no doubt be stories in the world that speak to things that need to be jettisoned (Uranus) and new things that need structure and support (Saturn).

The moon in Scorpio has questions about power:    Where’s the power?  Who has it?  Who is abusing it?  Where’s my power?  Who is ignoring their power?   Am I  dismissing  my power?   The Sun in Taurus on the other side of the moon, holds on tight for fear of losing something that maybe feels like power but is perhaps something else.   Is it power from a different era calcified into a comfortable status quo?

With Uranus on top of the Sun, the accent is on an abrupt letting go and a fast pivot.     History is filled with stories of people making a quick decision that changed the course of their life or the lives of people around them.

There is something about this full moon that feels like everyone is looking at a man in 1909 with a beautiful horse and gorgeous carriage.   He stands there proud answering questions about the horse and carriage and then coming up behind him is a man in a Model T.  Honk. Honk.     Whatever he spent on that horse and carriage may be obsolete.    Where is there something obsolete in our life that needs to be ditched?  Or is it a thinking?

The moon trines Mars in Cancer and the Sun sextiles Mars in Cancer.    Finding power is directing related to our gut.     Mars is not slow, he moves fast to protect, to slay, to forge, to get somewhere or get something done.    Mars is the warrior and in Cancer he is a warrior for our family or clan.    Saturn in Aquarius is support for and from the community.  Are you connected to your community?   How can you strengthen that connection?   Uranus in Taurus on the Sun reminds us we can do something that is solid and build it from the ground up that is new, fresh and innovative.     Uranus is shaking things up, on the chart and Pluto stations retrograde on the Full moon cycle which might present  an earthquake  in the 3 day cycle especially.

This is the full moon to go deep and find areas that need your power.  Don’t get caught up in power tripping or power trippers, that would be a missed opportunity of this signfigant full moon.

Mars in Cancer – Strengthening Connections

Mars moves in to Cancer on April 23rd and will stay there until June 11th. Mars isn’t at its happiest in this sign as Cancer is a little too emotional for its fiery liking. Of course there is still a positive side as this is a great time to strengthen personal connections and there is a strong protective & maternal energy. This is a great time for decluttering in all areas of our lives, whether that is mentally, emotionally or actually getting rid of things we no longer need. It is important that we all feel comfortable in our surroundings and even in our own skin now. The best way to do this is to deal with anything we have been putting off.

We will find that we swing from one extreme to another now, feeling happy and peaceful one day and upside down the next. Emotions will definitely be running higher than usual and it will be easy for us to react badly if we are pushed. Watch for passive aggressiveness, both in yourself and others for the next few weeks. Instead of flying off the handle, use this time as an opportunity to learn to ask for what you want in a positive manner. As well, try to distinguish between your own feelings and those of others, as empathy and sensitivity are enhanced by this transit.

On the plus side, we will find that we have more energy and enthusiasm for home and family matters. It will be easier to get on any repairs or improvements you have been putting off at home and we will find that we have a greater interest in domesticity on the whole. In a nutshell, go easy on yourself and others now and take advantage of the need to be a homebody and turn your home in to your very own safe haven.
