Seasonally Astrological

Someone once told me that he’d noticed that all his children, and everyone he’d had close relationships with (not including other blood relatives) had birthdays in the first half of the year, as he did himself.

More than once I’ve tossed an idea around, in my head, that it would be possible to create a plausible secondary, and simpler, zodiac based on the broad concept of seasonal astrology,

Vesta In The Natal Chart

Vesta Glyph“I believe in nothing, everything is sacred. I believe in everything, nothing is sacred.”
–Tom Robbins, Novelist, strong sexual themes, Vesta conjunct Chiron in Gemini

The asteroid Vesta is associated with the mythology of the ancient Vestal Virgins and both Scorpio and Virgo. Prominent Vesta in the natal chart is associated with the importance of sexuality, at both extremes, abstinence and promiscuity. It is not a sexuality devoid of morality but a sexuality charged with a higher dedication. Sex takes on an importance that is sacred in some regard.

Weekend Love Forecast – Finding Our Path Again, Leo And Virgo Moon

bright lightsThe cardinal t-square of Jupiter, Uranus, and Sun-Pluto has already hit its peak, but its influence continues. There are high hopes in relationships, tempered by sobering realities. The Sun And Self Esteem

sun zodiac scarf vintage“The privilege of a lifetime is being who you are.”
— Joseph Campbell

Elsa’s previous blog on Neptune really got me thinking. If you don’t have a strong internal locus of self-value, if you don’t believe you are worth receiving good treatment you will accept poor treatment. Neptune energy can allow one to deceive themselves about what is happening in reality. If your self esteem is too permeable to the opinions and actions of others, if you base your worth on what they think, feel and do rather than on an internal value, what YOU think, feel and do, then you are at their mercy. If you are at their mercy you can be prone to telling yourself stories, spinning the truth (Neptune) to suit what you wish to be true.

Outer Planetary Transits – a different theory

In his book Astrology for the Millions American astrologer Grant Lewi put forward a thought-provoking theory. He considered that, with regard to transits of the outer planets, it is the length of time they spend in a particular position that is paramount in their influence upon matters on Earth, rather than any inherent differences in the astrological characteristics of the planets themselves.
