I’d like to say a few words about the new virus variant Omicron. There are a lot of astrologers who are making a variety of astrological connections – this is happening because Neptune is in Pisces. It’s because there was a large grouping of planets in one sign last year. It’s because there’s a fixed star called Omicron Piscium so this must be fate (it turns out there are lots of Omicron stars that have nothing to do with Pisces, it seems to be a designation of a type of style but I hope someone will correct me if this is wrong).
Some astrologers said there was more optimism when Jupiter sneaked into Pisces earlier this year. Now others are saying the virus will be worse when Jupiter re-enters Pisces. I think we will know more when Jupiter and Neptune conjoin in Pisces in April 2022.
As someone whose religion is astrology, I do not believe that we can tie every little thing to astrological factors. Many of us did predict some kind of virus when Neptune entered Pisces, including me. The fact that there are natural cycles that are somewhat predictable in the sense that we have some idea of the type of energies we will be dealing with is very comforting. Knowing that certain things are possible at certain times, for me, gives me greater trust in the flow of life itself. Life is then not a series of random events that seem to come out of nowhere (although sometimes they do).
In this case, I believe there are larger energies at work. We are at the gateway between two astrological ages, and an old way of life is falling away (Piscean Age) to make way for the new world (Aquarian Age). The events necessitated by this big shift cannot be explained by the fact that Mars conjoined the Moon at the last lunar eclipse, or oh look, there’s a stellium in Aquarius somewhere. I see the virus as an emissary of nature – a plague to readjust a human world that has gone way off kilter, and I don’t see it going away any time soon even though planetary intensity may recede in 2022. The larger factors are at still at work.
If there was ever a time to incorporate greater physical, spiritual and psychological health into our life this is it. As we approach the end of 2021 many of us look back into the past to assess how we did the past year, and make plans and goals for the future. Perhaps this year we can take a good look at our lives to see where we can make adjustments in our health that go beyond vaccines. Repair broken relationships. Cut back on sugar. Make meditation a part of our daily routine. Go for a walk in nature every day. Get better sleep. Reconnect with ourselves at the deepest level and regain that inner balance so that we can not only survive, but thrive with joy and happiness. ❤️
“If you get along with someone most of the time and something comes up, you have two choices. You can deal with it or you can be stubborn and refuse to deal with it. People who succeed in relationships take … Read More…
On Sunday, 21 November 2021, a man broke through barriers and drove his red SUV wildly through a Christmas parade in Waukesha, Wisconsin, killing six and injuring more than sixty others. The suspect, Darrell Brooks, 39, was well-known to local police, a repeat offender who had just been released from jail two days prior on a thousand-dollar bail after arrest on a domestic abuse charge. Brooks had been accused of trying to run down his girlfriend with the same SUV. Witnesses said that Brooks swerved through the parade route in a zig-zag pattern, apparently attempting to hit as many people as possible. Police recovered Brooks and the damaged SUV several hours later; he was arraigned on multiple counts and bail set at a more reasonable $5 million.
Among the 6 dead were an 8-year-old boy, Jackson Sparks, and three members of the Milwaukee Dancing Grannies, a grandmothers-only dance troupe: Virginia Sorenson, 79; Leanna Owen, 71; Tamara Durand, 52, who was marking her premiere parade performance with the group; as well as one of their spouses, Wilhelm Hospel, 81, who facilitated the group’s appearances. Bank teller Jane Kulich, 52, also perished; she was representing her employer in the parade.
911 calls date the incident to shortly after 4:30, and a chart cast for 4:32 PM CST in Waukesha, WI depicts the story in fine celestial detail, as always. Vehicular homicide is suggested by a conjunction of asteroids Requiem, named for the funeral mass for the dead, and Carr, phonetic match for “car”, at 4 and 5 Virgo, in trine to TNO Ixion at 0 Capricorn, named for the first murderer in Greek myth. CNA (Compound-Name Asteroid) Darrellstrobel, one of several PNAs (Personal-Named Asteroids) which can be used to identify suspect Darrell Brooks, appears at 5 Taurus, creating a Grand Trine and tying the driver to the deaths and his means of accomplishing them. A Kite pattern is formed by Carr/Requiem’s opposition to asteroid Brooks, the suspect’s last name, at 10 Pisces; this “string” of the pattern directs its manifestation and indicates who or what is driving it.
Also conjoined Darrellstrobel is asteroid Child at 11 Taurus, with an exact pairing of Uranus with asteroid Jackson at 12 Taurus, all opposing Mars at 15 Scorpio. Uranus rules accidents and crashes, Mars rules violent death, and Child with Jackson represents the youngest victim, Jackson Sparks, aged 8. Jackson’s older brother Tucker was also injured (as were 15 other children), but is recovering from a fractured skull. This polarity becomes a Grand Cross with the addition of Saturn, ancient lord of death, which at 8 Aquarius is exactly on the MC, making death the focus of all eyes in the moment.; and asteroid Tamara at 11 Leo, for victim Tamara Durand.
Brooks is also represented by CNA Darrellparnell at 16 Libra, which conjoins asteroid Atropos at 19 Libra, named for the mythic Greek Fate who severs the thread of life at death, and squared Pluto, modern ruler of death and homicide specifically, at 24 Capricorn. With Atropos is asteroid Soren at 21 Libra, a shortened form of victim Virginia Sorenson’s last name, with asteroid Virginia exactly opposed Atropos from 19 Aries, forming a T-Square with Pluto. Conjoined Pluto is asteroid Leani at 26 Capricorn, for victim Leanna Owen. Virginia is at station, having turned direct just two days previously, indicating a literal “change of direction” for Virginia Sorenson.
Owen is also represented by asteroid Owens, which at 13 Sagittarius conjoins asteroid Lachesis, named for Atropos’ mythic sister, who determines the span of life, at 16 Sag; and by asteroid Owen, which at 28 Taurus conjoins the 3 Gemini Ascendant, and opposes the Sun at 29 Scorpio, making her very visible in the moment and highlighted for the time period, for good or ill. Also in the spotlight is asteroid Jana, for Jane Kulich, which at 27 Leo forms a T-Square with the Sun. Lachesis/Owens further squares asteroid Brooks at 10 Pisces, uniting victim and killer.
Also connected to the suspect is asteroid William (English version of the German Wilhelm), for Wilhelm Hospel, which opposes from 9 Virgo, conjoined asteroid Anubis, named for the ancient Egyptian deity governing funerary rites, at 13 Virgo. Also with Anubis is asteroid Kulik, a second PNA for victim Jane Kulich, at 12 Virgo; and asteroid Sparks, also for Jackson Sparks, at 21 Virgo.
The Milwaukee Dancing Grannies were especially vulnerable, with dancers in general highlighted for the time, by asteroid Terpsichore at 23 Scorpio, named for Greek Muse of dance, conjoined the Sun and Mercury (ruling cars) at 29 and 25 Scorpio. These appear at the Apex of a Yod, or Finger of Destiny pattern, with inconjunct aspects to asteroid Osiris at 29 Aries, named for the Egyptian god of the dead, and the Moon at 27 Gemini, ruling women (fully two-thirds of the victims were female).
The holiday-related setting of the Christmas parade is depicted by asteroid Yule at 3 Aquarius, conjoined Saturn and at the Apex of a second Yod, with inconjunct aspects to asteroids Rip at 3 Cancer (which functions as a death indicator in the form of the acronym RIP, “Rest In Peace”, a common tombstone inscription) and asteroids Carr with Requiem at 4 and 5 Virgo, which combines three death indicators with a vehicle and the season being celebrated.
Over the past 15 years I’ve analyzed more of these types of stories than I care to recall, but what always stands out is the prominence of death indicators, asteroids representing the name of the perpetrator and its connectivity to those of the victims, and the “clumping” together of victim asteroids, in proximity celestially as well as terrestrially.
Facebook recently changed its name to “Meta” in anticipation of the increasing fusion between the “real” world and the virtual world. This fusion is the result of the capabilities offered by ever increasing speeds of internet connection, from text and images (3G) to video (4G) to an increasingly enhanced reality, or “augmented reality” (5G). You may find this exciting, or you may find it terrifying. Regardless of your feelings, this global transformation is already underway. Back in 2014 Mark Zuckerberg anticipated this shift when he bought the Virtual Reality company Oculus, saying “One day, we believe this kind of immersive, augmented reality will become a part of daily life for billions of people.”
I’ve been writing about this for many years (there is a whole category of articles on this blog called Future Shock) – the idea of the Singularity, that at some point humanity and technology will merge – is a fascinating one and very much tied into the idea of Aquarius. Aquarius is not the “peace, love and understanding” referred to in the musical “Hair.” Aquarius is ruled traditionally by Saturn, planet of control and structure, and its modern transformational ruler is Uranus. Uranus, like Saturn, can be cold and dispassionate but unlike Saturn’s penchant for rules, Uranus seeks to break free of restrictions in order to develop new paradigms. Aquarius, therefore, marks the boundary between the structure that holds human society together, and the need to break through antiquated social structures to change with the times.
Uranus also governs modern technology, which after all did not really begin until after its discovery date of 1781. Although Ben Franklin had “discovered” electricity in 1752, there was no way to really utilize it until the early 1800s. Meanwhile, though, the cotton gin was invented in 1794, the first of modern technology to kick start the industrial revolution. The early 1800s witnessed a large number of new inventions, another hallmark of Uranus and a facet of this breaking out of old paradigms to do things in a new way.
The blurring of the boundaries between the “real” world and the virtual really culminated in 2020-2021 under the pandemic; suddenly our virtual lives became as real as our “real” lives. Facebook groups, Facebook live – all of these things were critical to our emotional survival as we struggled to hold on to some kind of connection with others in the midst of quarantine. Up until now, attempts to institute the Metaverse have largely failed: Second Life, the simulated virtual reality, never really caught on in the mainstream. Virtual reality headsets and experiences remained an anomaly rather than a dominating force in the culture. But Facebook is betting on the idea that this will soon change.
Terence McKenna described human development as a series of events that repeat each other in multiple dimensions with an end point. Wikipedia calls this “a succession of historical periods which are “compressed” versions of each other” and states that “[McKenna] describes an overall acceleration of human cultural development, which he likens to a “tightening spiral” approaching what he describes as the “transcendental object of the universe.” The end point, or “singularity,” occurs when the rate of development becomes infinitely rapid.” Futurists predict that this will occur some time around 2040, which coincides with the end of Pluto’s passage through Aquarius and the opposition from Uranus in Leo to Pluto.
Uranus cycles over the past 60 years seem to have kickstarted the shift from the Age of Pisces into the Age of Aquarius (see this article for more on when the Age of Aquarius begins). The conjunction of Uranus to Pluto in the 1960s, the conjunction of Uranus to Neptune in the 1990s – these were major times of accelerated change. Saturn and Jupiter have been in Aquarius all year, and Saturn has been in a challenging square to Uranus at the same time. The duality of Aquarius – control vs liberating change – has never been so predominant, and that will only increase when Pluto enters Aquarius in March of 2023.
We are being pushed through the birth canal whether we like it or not, and the Metaverse is waiting there for us.
