Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Taurus, November 19, 2021

Powerful energies are being generated on the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse at 27° 14’ Taurus on 19 November 2021, 12:58 AM PST. The energy sources are two fixed oppositions and one fixed T-square. The oppositions are the Scorpio Sun opposing the Taurus Moon, and Mars in Scorpio opposing Uranus in Taurus. The fixed T-square is composed of the Scorpio Sun and Taurus Moon both squaring Jupiter in Aquarius. The beautiful thing is all of those aspects include a harmonious outlet that may help us make good use of all this energy. The catch is the oppositions and the square are going to grab the lion’s share of our attention and we’ll have to an effort to seek out what the harmonious aspects are offering us.

In the case of the luminaries and the fixed T-square with Jupiter in Aquarius, it is Pluto in Capricorn that is trine the Taurus Moon and sextile the Scorpio Sun. With earth and water the dominate elements on this lunation, it should come as no surprise that pragmatic choices are wiser than more idealistic ones. Jupiter in Aquarius exemplifies idealistic ideas that are meant to benefit the greatest number of people in our collectives. And while these ideals are wonderful in theory, they often are out of touch with the realities of day to day life. With some judicious adjustments and emphasizing what works in real life, we can adapt Jupiter in Aquarius’s best ideas and make them happen. Mind you, we’ll probably have to make some tough calls about what to throw out and what to keep.

There is another thread featuring Mercury in Scorpio that compliments the fixed T-square with the luminaries. Mercury in Scorpio is trine Neptune in Pisces, sextile to Pluto in Capricorn and square to Jupiter in Aquarius. It is also very widely conjunct the Scorpio Sun. If we add compassion and kindness to mix (the trine to Neptune in Pisces) when we sit down to discuss our plans for improving the quality of life for our compatriots, our chances of creating something truly beneficial increases.

An interesting aspect pattern includes the rulers of Scorpio and Taurus – Mars and Venus respectively. Mars in Scorpio is sextile Venus in Capricorn and opposes Uranus in Taurus, while Venus in Capricorn is trine Uranus in Taurus. Mars opposite Uranus is hard on the nervous system and can make us more accident prone than usual. The Venus-Uranus trine is very inventive when it comes to both love and money. What must be taken into consideration is all three planets are in earth and water. Scorpio, Capricorn and Taurus are all pragmatists and will choose the option giving them the best chance of real world success. It is possible we’ll have an unexpected opportunity to make a commitment to our loved one. Or we might find the perfect home to buy, if that’s what we’re looking for.

Saturn in Aquarius is only involved on the periphery, since it makes no tight aspects. However, it is worth noting the square between Saturn in Aquarius and Uranus in Taurus is gradually tightening and the final exact square will take place on December 23 at 11° 06’. This is one most will be glad to see the back of.

Since this Full Moon is a lunar eclipse, it does come with more caveats than usual. Be aware instant karma is strong at this time, and if we choose to ignore common sense precautions, we could feel the sting of a fast slap down. What will produce the best results is exercising compassion, kindness and being respectful of other people’s opinions. Getting caught up in being righteous and judgmental (Jupiter in Aquarius territory) is not recommended. This is a good time to follow Mercury in Scorpio’s usual tactic of thinking long and hard before sharing opinions. One final reminder about the reality of this lunation being dominated by earth and water (with only Jupiter and Saturn in air), when engaged in problem solving taking a down to earth, pragmatic approach has the best chance of success. High minded, idealistic theories may sound wonderful but won’t make the cut at this time. As always, be kind, tolerant and patient. Peace and love to all.
