Today promises to be a far more pleasant day than those we have experienced recently.

This morning the Sun in Aries and Jupiter in Sagittarius are engaged in a free-flowing and forward-looking conversation, while Venus receives support from Pluto, helping us to understand the root issues in relationship or financial matters.

The waxing gibbous Moon carries on through love-me Leo, not talking to any other planets until late in the day when she forms a playful and optimistic Fire Grand Trine with the radiant Sun and jolly Jupiter.

She goes void-of-course at 9:38 PM ET and drifts quietly through the night until she enters detail-loving Virgo at 6:14 AM, just in time for Tax Day.

So that’s all I’m going to say — the planets speak for themselves. Have a light-hearted and relaxed Sunday!

The Aries Sun is caught up in a struggle with powerful Pluto today. Control issues and ego conflicts can arise, bringing up fears and deeply buried psychological issues related to events of the past or even previous lifetimes.

If you have planets or angles in Aries, Cancer, Libra, or Capricorn, this transit may be particularly intense.

Pluto transits can really suck. A friend recently called Pluto the Great Composter. What comes out of the compost bin at the end does not at all resemble what went in. But the end product is black gold – random scraps and rotten bits transformed by a mysterious and sometimes ugly process into a rich and fertile substance.

Pay attention to your need to be in control, or your tendency be a victim under the control of another person, habit, or addiction. Now is a great time to get to the root of the matter, to understand the cause and to release its hold on you.

The Moon entered Leo in the wee hours this morning and right away is facing a challenge from radical Uranus, leading to an unsettled feeling or perhaps an unexpected occurrence.

Late in the afternoon, the Leo Moon gets a boost from Mars, helping us to feel brave and passionate. Go out tonight and share your radiant self with your most playful friends. Shake off the worries of the day.

What a week this has been – so much happening all at once after a low-energy and emotional March. Mars in Gemini has had me working on multiple fronts all at once. How about you?

The Sun is still making harsh angles with Saturn, Pluto, and the South Node (Ketu) all bunched together in Capricorn. You may have had plenty of stuff come up in the past few days regarding limitations/blockages and authority/control issues.

The intensity continues through Saturday but begins to let up on Sunday, clearing the way for a less stressful week leading up to the second Libra Full Moon this Spring, occurring on the 19th.

The waxing Moon sails quietly through her Cancer home, talking with no other planets for the rest of the day. Use today to rest up and nurture yourself and your family, pets, houseplants, or winter-ravaged gardens.

Tuesday, April 9, 2019

The waxing crescent Moon runs up against an unhappy Mars in Gemini this morning as the sky brightens in the East, starting the day off with random and somewhat cranky activity. You may have a hard time focusing on any one thing and instead, bounce around like an irritable pinball. Things will calm down some as the Moon pulls away from Mars by mid-morning, but with the Moon in Gemini all day, you may still be easily distracted.

The first two-thirds of April is an exciting time when we find several planets either exalted (working well in a sign they’re compatible with) or in their domicile (at home in a sign they rule.) Venus is exalted in Pisces, the Sun is exalted in Aries, Neptune is quite happy in Pisces (his rulership, in modern astrology,) Jupiter is at home in his Sagittarius rulership (and he rules Pisces too, in classical astrology,) and Saturn reigns over his homeland of Capricorn.

This week they are all in action, with much energy building now to peak tomorrow.

Venus, who adores Pisces, has donned her rose-colored glasses as she perches on Neptune’s knee. She’s feeling soft, romantic, and optimistic, willing to see the best in any suitor. You may crave love and romance, and it may well show up for you, but beware the rose-colored glasses. Not all is as it seems. Late this evening the Moon forms a difficult square to this watery love-fest, enhancing the potential for deception and over-doing. Enjoy yourself now, but re-assess any blooming romance when Venus leaves the fog for the bright light of Aries on April 20th.

The Sun, who is especially fiery and robust in Aries, is facing a severe challenge from Saturn, who in turn is in the karmic South Node of the Moon (Ketu.) Ketu is a place of endings, of release. You may find you have to let go of some cherished idea of yourself, some self-concept that no longer jibes with reality, and it may really suck.

Jupiter is happily parked at 24˚ of his Sagittarius home and turns retrograde mid-day tomorrow. He’ll retrace his steps back to 14˚ Sagittarius where he’ll station direct on August 11th. We’ll be reviewing what we’ve learned since he was last at that degree in mid-January. In what area of life that is for you depends on which house Sagittarius occupies in your chart. I’d be delighted to have a conversation with you about this and other planets in your horoscope. Contact me here.

Mercury, who is in his least favorite sign of Pisces, receives a power-up from Pluto in Capricorn. You may find that you can think about your deepest and most hidden issues in a creative and compassionate way.

Phew! Lots going on this week. It could feel like a big roller-coaster ride. Breathe deep and go easy on yourself and others you encounter.

The week gets off to a slow start with the Moon void-of-course all day in Taurus. Use today to make slow and steady progress on existing projects. Best not to launch anything new as it likely will not turn out as planned.

As the work day ends, the Moon enters lively Gemini at 5:15 PM ET. Do some errands on the way home. Use the evening to return phone calls and emails, and make your plans for the rest of the week.

Sunday, April 7, 2019

The waxing crescent Moon browses on through the fields of Taurus, bringing us a sweet and stable Sunday as she talks happily with Venus, Neptune, and Mercury in Pisces and Saturn in Capricorn.

The Moon receives tender advice from Venus all morning (ET), encouraging open-hearted relations with partner and family. Throughout the afternoon, she engages in supportive conversation with Neptune, opening us to heightened empathy, compassion, and creativity, while Saturn lends emotional stability and patience this evening.

You may find it hard to sleep tonight as Mercury engages the Moon in a lively chat around midnight, helping us to express in words the feelings in our hearts. Mercury is feeling much better as he speeds up and leaves Neptune in his wake. Your mind may be full of visions and plans for the future. Put a notebook and pen by your bed so you can write it all down and get some sleep.

Saturday, April 6, 2019

We begin the day with the waxing crescent Moon void-of-course in the tail-end of Aries. She enters Taurus at 9:06 AM ET and the mood shifts from go-go-go to one of slow down and smell the flowers.

However, the Moon meets up with Uranus, the Great Awakener, as soon as she sets foot in the pasture, potentially shaking up your morning with unexpected events or sudden insights.

Uranus entered Taurus for a seven-year stay on March 6th. It’s a place of contradiction for the planet of change and disruption as Taurus prefers stability, security, and pleasure. The Moon loves being in Taurus, but until 2025 she has to share the pasture with Uranus, thus bringing anxiety and unpredictability to this typically comfortable and steady place. If you have planets or angles in early Taurus, I suspect you’re feeling it too.

By mid-afternoon things should calm down, making for a quiet afternoon and cozy evening.

Mercury is finally pulling away from the watery grasp of Neptune and for the next few days will be receiving solid advice from Saturn, bringing mental clarity after a long period of anything but. Business deals, planning, studying, or any activity that requires clear thinking are favored. Just make sure to dot the i’s and cross the t’s – Mercury is still in Pisces after all.
