I’ve got a longer post coming – but it’s not quite ready. So I thought I’d send out a few keywords for today’s slightly over-the-top Full Moon in Gemini.

I CHING Hexagram 2 – THE RECPETIVE – K’un calls for a period of patience and reflection. Where you may have been reactive in the past, it is time to learn how to be responsive. Reaction is a defensive position to uphold the known while responsiveness is open to the unknown. K’un encourages you to yield to the way each day is a creative awakening.
Remove preconceptions and judgment. All things change in time and a period of action, reflected by the underlying cause of the Creative must give way to its opposite: Reflection. Like winter it is time to turn within and reinvigorate your inner world in preparation for a spring time to come. Embodying an open field in any activity – you are called to put your needs aside to serve, open and reflect before acting. K’un’s power of success comes from within.
Move into the world from the inside ~ out. The Receptive is the womb holding the energy of attraction by way of intention that requires the development of sincerity and patience.

Today’s the New Moon 🌙 in Libra brings us into a new energy cycle, and this one packs quite a wallop! Tension with both Saturn (karmic lessons) and Pluto (power, control, destruction- reconstruction ) means some powerful emotional shifts are heading our way. And with the focus on both Venus and the sign of Libra – personal relationships are in the spotlight!
A key factor is the Pluto effect – we must either suffer or transform! This is not easy energy- you’ve got to lean into it! If you are reacting to or clinging onto the old rules of engagement (control dramas – power over- victim mentality) – eventually you may come face to face with your own shadow!
We all have it (shadow) i.e. the unloved or rejected parts of ourself. And we all have light. In fact – the one creates the other! Sun and Moon in Libra can bring us a balanced approach to integrating the two.
A New Moon is an alchemical moment, with the energies of the Sun and the Moon mix together in a sacred marriage (conjunctio). This creates a seed time – where our intentions create our future potential. Although New Moons usually set in motion a new cycle – this one begins by having us revisiting the past. Old friends or lovers may turn up in our dreams or in actuality. Venus is seeking repair of past injuries, disappointments or lost dreams. Its time to wipe the slate clean and begin again.
This New Moon in Libra occurs at the beginning of Venus retrograde journey through the sign of Scorpio. This can turn out to be a journey into our sexual selves as we explore some old demons. Over the next 40 days- the Libra energy can help us bring healing, harmony and balance to any difficult material that is coming up to be cleared. As Venus in Scorpio takes us deep into our psyches, she will show us is that these scary feelings are just pointing to parts that we haven’t faced or integrated yet – and those shadowy selves can become our allies once we befriend them!
Part of that process is giving them a voice. It might feel overwhelming- for both men and women- to hold a space for the female rage that is currently being triggered. It takes deep listening to stay present when someone is in pain. As Scorpio activates life or death struggles, power and control dramas and issues around sexual intimacy, Pluto in Capricorn puts pressure on the statusquo, which then boomerangs back onto dear Venus. Victim blaming is part of that energy.
Its time to claim our feminine power and let her stand free and tall. This applies to all of us – no matter how we identify. We may find ourself going through a purging process. Pluto is the transformer as well as destroyer- he strips us down to eventually make us whole. Sounds like an oxymoron – it is not easy when the lord of the underworld activates our issues. Like the phoenix rising from the ashes – she (we) will rise again. And again. And again. You cant keep a good person down!!!
In the meantime, wherever Pluto sits in our chart will show us where we may have issues with power and control- and Capricorn speaks to status and authority systems. The old (patriarchal) order is fighting hard to maintain the status quo. As the battle of the sexes (Venus square Mars) plays out in global consciousness, it can potentially mirror/trigger our own personal traumas. Please take care of yourself and get support if this is bringing up difficult memories.
Ultimately, Venus in Scorpio is about deep soul union. It’s about connection. The Venus retrograde will turn us back on ourself to help us remove whatever blockages have caused us to forget that our true nature is love. This New Moon will activate the process. As Venus leads us down and through areas that need healing/releasing – she will also help us move on from past issues that keep us stuck. Its about discovering and knowing our true value – which is love.
An excerpt from “The Prophet” by Kahlil Gibran
And with a great voice he said:
Though his ways are hard and steep.
And when his wings enfold you yield to him,
Though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you.
And when he speaks to you believe in him,
Though his voice may shatter your dreams
as the north wind lays waste the garden.
Even as he is for your growth so is he for your pruning.
Even as he ascends to your height and caresses your tenderest
branches that quiver in the sun,
So shall he descend to your roots and shake them
in their clinging to the earth.
Like sheaves of corn he gathers you unto himself.
He threshes you to make you naked.
He sifts you to free you from your husks.
He grinds you to whiteness.
He kneads you until you are pliant:
And then he assigns you to his sacred fire,
that you may become sacred bread for God`s sacred feast.
that you may know the secrets of your heart,
and in that knowledge become a fragment of Life`s heart.
love`s peace and love`s pleasure,
Then it is better for you
that you cover your nakedness and
pass out of love`s threshing floor,
Into the seasonless world where you
shall laugh, but not all of your laughter,
and weep, but not all of your tears.
Love possesses not nor would it be possessed:
For love is sufficient unto love.
“God is in my heart,” but rather,
“I am in the heart of God.”
And think not you can direct the course
of love, for love, if it finds you worthy,
directs your course.
But if you love and must needs have desires, let these be your desires:
To melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody to the night.
To know the pain of too much tenderness.
To be wounded by your own understanding of love;
And to bleed willingly and joyfully.
To wake at dawn with a winged heart
and give thanks for another day of loving:
To rest at the noon hour and meditate love`s ecstasy:
And then to sleep with a prayer for the beloved in you heart
and a song of praise upon you lips.
The autumn equinox will happen today (Saturday Sept 22nd) at 9:54 PM Eastern time/2:54 AM Sunday 23rd UT.
I think most people know that Equinox means equal day – equal night. If you didn’t, now you do ! But what you may not know is that western astrology is dependant on the moment when the sun aligns with the equator. The zodiac begins the sign of Aries with this occurrence in the spring – and the second half (Life bra) begins similarly in autumn. That is why the date of the first day of spring and fall can change from year to year, because it’s not about the specific day, as it is about the sun’ s exact position relative to the earth.
“The September equinox is the moment when the Sun appears to cross the celestial equator, heading southward. Due to differences between the calendar year and the tropical year, the September equinox can occur at any time from the 21st to the 24th day of September.Wikipedia
Originally the constellations lined up with each of the signs (sort of) but due to earths wobble, these have shifted in relation to the earth, so we rely on the equinoxes for the timing of the zodiac wheel.
I bet you will sleep better knowing that fact 😉
Anyway- Autumn is about to begin. I love this time of year, with the crisp air, the golden leaves, the cooler nights. It’s the time of harvest and gathering as we prepare for the coming cold. We’ve had snow already where I live – I’m hoping we’ll still get a beautiful warm October as we often do.
I find myself thinking about harmony and balance and the highly polarized atmosphere the world seems to be in at this time.
One of the things that is interesting when doing people’s charts, is that there are always very opposite qualities in most people. So you may have a part of you that’s very outgoing, gregarious, cheery, and another part that’s more inward, hermit-like and shy.
Or, some people may see you as a strong independent leader, while you yourself bemoan the fact that you can’t make up your mind about things.
We all have these opposites in us – of Yin and Yang, masculine/feminine, light and dark. Part of an astrology reading is to look at the polarities and see how and where they can be integrated to create a more balanced whole.
This is definitely a theme right now as we move into the sign of Libra, who’s symbol is the scales. The word Libra is contained in equilibrium.
Venus is soon turning retrograde, so we’ll have plenty of time to reflect on our relationships and our inter connections with others, as well as how in or out of balance we feel. Do you find yourself giving too much to others, or too little? Are you caught up work or in so many social activities that you have little time for yourself, or do you wish you could get out more?
The Full Moon on Monday is in the fiery sign of Aries, which is all about initiative and independence and doing things for ourselves.
Libra is more codependent and attached to others.
We’ll have plenty of chances to look at our relationships and try and find ways to balance out opposites, while we work on finding middleground.
Like a pendulum swinging from one extreme to another, sometimes we have to swing towards something that seems at odds with our own values. In doing so, we may gain empathy and understanding of a different point of view. The trick is to not compromise your own self in the process. That requires having a strong sense of self. The North Node/Destiny Point in Leo says Amen to that! 🙏🏻
At this Equinox moment, may you find the Beauty, Harmony and Peace that you seek. And remember, everything that you’re looking for – is already inside of you.
There’s something about this time of year, as the days begin to shorten, the air gets crisper, the leaves begin to get a tinge of gold and yellow here in the Northern Hemisphere. In this part of the world it is the time of the harvest, where we begin to gather in and prepare for the coming winter.
My point is – Virgo is the tightener- Neptune sitting opposite is a loosener. The more dreamy influence can help soften the harsh glare of Virgos perfectionism by increasing our empathy and compassion for others. Everyone is just trying to do their best!
