Moon in Gemini conjunct Sun in Gemini – New Moon 11:02AM EDT – So finally the New Moon is here later this morning. How wonderful! This is an especially auspicious time to start a new project. For 1/2 hour before and 1/2 you after the actual Sun/Moon conjunction at 11:02AM EDT is the best time to begin something new.

The New Moon enters Cancer 1:34PM EDT, The Cancer Moon is one of the most nurturing and expressive signs in the zodiac. We might be in the mind to be very close and affectionate with our loved ones at this time. There can be times of increased sensitivity during the Cancer Moon so just take that into account of you start to feel emotions well up. Great time to start family projects or get started with summertime activities and plans.

Moon in Cancer trines Neptune (R) in Pisces 7:40PM EDT – A very romantic aspect. Expect the illusions to be be very friendly and pleasurable. Because of the retrograde action of Neptune, it may involve people, places, or things from your past. You might watch a movie or TV show which is very romantically inspiring for you at this time. Great time to cuddle up at home together. Plan accordingly.

Tomorrow, June 20th is the Summer Solstice. A solstice is an astronomical event that happens twice each year when the Sun reaches its highest position in the sky as seen from the North or South Pole. The word solstice is derived from the Latin sol (sun) and sistere (to stand still), because at the solstices, the Sun stands still in declination; that is, the seasonal movement of the Sun’s path (as seen from Earth) comes to a stop before reversing direction. The solstices, together with the equinoxes, are connected with the seasons. In many cultures the solstices mark either the beginning or the midpoint of winter and summer.

The term solstice can also be used in a broader sense, as the date (day) when this occurs. The day of the solstice is either the “longest day of the year” (in summer) or the “shortest day of the year” (in winter) for any place on Earth, because the length of time between sunrise and sunset on that day is the yearly maximum or minimum for that place.
