The moon enters the adventurous sign of Sagittarius this evening
(6:04 pm EST) making it the perfect time to try out new places and cultures. We
should new cuisine or pick up a book about an unfamiliar culture or new
philosophy to expand your mind and your horizons. Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter
the planet of expansion and is the natural home of the ninth house. Known as
the sign of the archer (aims and goals) and represented by an arrow as a glyph,
Sagittarius rules higher learning, philosophy and long distance and foreign
travel and cultures.  We should, however,
stay inside of our comfort

It used to be like this…

When we talk about the City of London, we are talking about both a place and an idea. The City is the square mile that was once a fortified town founded by the Romans, that developed into the heaving moiling medieval trading centre on the banks of the River Thames, burnt down in 1666, rebuilt by Wren, bombed in the Blitz and today is a dense cluster of shining towers interspersed with beautiful jewel box churches.

The City is also the financial district, and so it’s the UK equivalent of Wall Street, a place where millions of pounds are lost and won every day by adrenaline-driven traders, where deals are brokered and where a bonus might buy you a castle or two in Scotland. That City is not confined to the Square Mile …

There’s a Full Moon in Capricorn on July 3rd. What do we know about Capricorn? It’s real. Focused. Earthy. Ambitious. This will not be a sentimental Moon (leave the gush for Cancer, Capricorn’s opposite sign). It will be about the … Continue reading →

Saturn is direct now and will leave Libra for Scorpio on October 6th, 2012.  Many people are choosing to end their relationships at this time.  Others are reinforcing their commitment. Most seem to realize that the decisions they make at this time will have a lasting effect and because of this, they may have delayed the inevitable. It’s like strapping yourself in and going over the falls. Few want to do that.

In astrology, the term “opposite” is one which I think deserves elaboration. To oppose something is to imply that we’re dead set against it. So, through time, the terminology has grown to be associated with negativity. After all, what do we do with opponents? Anything to win, whether it means mudslinging, embarassment and the like. I don’t wish to dismiss the accuracy inherent in this definition, but I simply want to broaden the scope of vision.

When we speak of opposite signs of the zodiac, we’re also referring to a complementarity of sorts. If we can take the most constructive parts of each and synthesize them, a power is discovered which outweighs both of the signs working as fragmented entities.

So, let’s rap about Aries and Libra. I call this axis the “ME-WE” set up. The

Cancer/Xochiquetzal, original artwork by Seattle artist Karen MacKenzie. See end of article for more info.

Cancer is associated with home, birth, family, and our tribe, clan or nation. It is also the sign of empathy, emotional intelligence, re-birth and mass consciousness.

The mysterious sign of Cancer is one of the quietest. It is the tiniest of constellations in the Zodiac and could easily slip by without being noticed. Yet within this tiny, silent sign are held the deepest secrets of reincarnation, for Cancer is the gateway into the physical realm. The sacred marriage of matter and spirit happens through this gateway of Cancer.

In considering the planetary rulers of Cancer, it is most important to understand what we really mean by “rulership.” What may have been considered “ruling” in times gone by, as in domination or holding power over …

Starcana » Cosmic Dirt Astrology, June 30, 2012

June 30th, 2012 @ 5:20 am by Starcana

We’re emotionally charged this morning, and ready to make things happen as Moon sextiles active Mars. Later, Moon will remove herself from Scorpio’s heavy grasp, and enter adventurous Sagittarius. We’ll be searching for ways to be happy and grateful as we begin to experience freedom from yesterday’s uncomfortable place. Escaping our troubles will feel right tonight as Moon squares sleepy Neptune. Leave worries behind, and enjoy your Saturday.…

Aries-   You
may be feeling the urge to start up something new, but it is much better to use
your ideas to refine and follow up on existing projects. Put your energy into
finishing what you’ve started, but try to curb any impulses that have you
wanting to against authority and convention unless you are sure that you can
handle the backlash. Before jumping into a romance with strange, but
interesting new people, take a while to investigate. Just because someone is intriguing
doesn’t mean that you need to attach yourself to them in a permanent way. Do
some investigating before you jump into something that may be difficult to get
out of later.
Taurus-
Battles on the home front can lead to tensions and frustrations that lead to
mistakes and mishaps at work. It’s time to confront
