Kelly Surtees » Saturn Sations in Libra

February 9th, 2012 @ 5:11 pm by Kelly Surtees

I know it’s controversial, but I like Saturn. Yes, he’s quite active in my own chart, but I do like how I become better under his influence – and I love witnessing how clients mature under his initially challenging tests. It’s true, nobody likes a reality check, but Saturn also brings the strength to help you make necessary – and ultimately good for you - changes.

Saturn represents the end of the solar system, at least as we can experience it physically.Without some kind of technological aid, your naked eye won’t see past the bounds of Saturn. Herein lies much of Saturn’s meaning – that he represents a limit or boundary.

When Saturn’s active in your chart – by transit or progression – you’ll feel as though you, like the planet Saturn, have come to a place in life where there are limits or boundaries. It’s all too easy to feel like this is the end – especially when moving forward as you’ve been carrying on is no longer possible.

Instead, Saturn’s rings bring contraction – forcing you to do less – and helping you revise what it is you might really want. This planet of bare essentials asks “If you could only do one thing (in relation to whatever he’s touching – at work, in relationships, with friends etc.), what would it be?” Then, rather than scatter yourself or try to live up to others promises, set your own ground rules – based on your authentic desires – and get to work making something that’s real for you happen.

Saturn

Saturn has now hit the brakes in diplomatic Libra. The scales of justice are weighed in this sign, to see whether efforts on current projects are fair and equitable.

From February 6 – June 24, 2012, Saturn will retrograde (move backwards) through Libra. Saturn is almost finished his once-in-29yr visit through Libra (which also affects the other three cardinal signs – Aries, Cancer and Capricorn). But before this visit ends, there’s time to review, revise and most of all practice the new limits Saturn in Libra has been teaching you.

Whether you’re a cardinal sign or not, Saturn in Libra has been energising at the very least a house in your chart (and therefore one particular area of life). You might not be a cardinal sign, but you might have other planets in a cardinal sign (I have Venus there) showing that a particular part of your psyche may be interacting with Saturn’s maturing influence.
