Anchored in Astrology » Venus in Aries

February 8th, 2012 @ 4:29 am by Anchored in Astrology

After three weeks of basking in the sign of her exaltation, it was time for Venus to stop resting on her laurels and start blazing a new trail.

In other words, it was time to enter Aries.
As the planetary ruler of the seventh house, Venus is in her detriment whenever she pays a visit to Libra’s opposite sign. Just like an “away” game in baseball, Venus lacks the “home team” advantage in Aries and must abide by its rules during her visit
For example, as the ruler of money, the earthy side of Venus is well recognized for its financial acumen. However, when immersed in the self-centered and impulsive sign of Aries, her sound fiscal judgment quickly becomes a casualty of impetuous extravagance.
Likewise, if we do not exert self-control during this period, our budgets and bank accounts may suffer the consequences of reckless spending.

Venus also presides over romance, and since the Aries nature is a bold, passionate, decisive and forthright, while the goddess of love is here she will adopt an aggressive approach to romance.
Consequently, while Venus is in Aries and especially when she conjuncts Uranus on February 9, we are also likely to be more brazen when it comes to initiating romantic relationships.

As she becomes infused with Martian energy, Venus will find that she enjoys the thrill of the chase and will revel in her victory when she wins the object of her affection.

However, absent a deep and abiding connection between them, her interest will start to wane, her eye will start to wander, and until she begins to choose more responsibly she will continue to leave a trail of broken hearts behind her.

Like Venus, it will be easier for us to become swept up by the idea of romance rather than its substance, and if we allow our enthusiasm to rule our emotions, we are likely to become involved in unions that are short-lived and leave us unfulfilled.

Throughout the entire time Venus is in Aries, she is challenged to play a romantic role that is in conflict with her gentle, sensual and receptive nature.
Although the path is unfamiliar and the lesson uncomfortable, it is only by exploring her opposite sign that Venus will learns\ how to recognize her soul mate.
And, if she pays close enough attention, she will also discover that true love really does conquer all.
