miatopia watched this old video, People Who Marry You When They Don’t Even Like You and started a thread to discuss the qualities of Venus/Neptune people on the boards. I have Venus in aspect to Neptune. I have written a lot about it over the years. I’ve written about the sensitivity to music and the deception which is perpetrated by the Venus Neptune person as often as they are preyed upon, though they’re usually more comfortable in the victim role then they are with owning their side of things, assuming they can see their side which often they can’t.

I’m posting because one things has never come up on this blog.  It’s the way relationships (Venus) can drain (Neptune) a person who has this in their chart.  People can really wipe you out and you pray to escape them.…

Tethered Parent Child ConversationTethered Child-Parent Converstation

(Astrology Explored)
Today’s parents get a bad rap for being too overprotective. Called Helicopter Parents by authors Neil Howe and William Strauss, they are blamed for ruining their children by sticking their nose into every aspect of their children’s lives, fixing every upset, trivial or no.

This has been the most protected generation in history,” says Mark Thompson, director of counseling at Colgate University. He points to car seats, bicycle helmets, and even wood chips under park swings. Because Gen Y has been reared in a “risk adverse” way, they tend to be psychologically fragile, robbed of their own identities, and unable to feel a real sense of accomplishment for their efforts.

So it is the parent’s fault when junior can’t handle life. But what do you say when something like this happens?

Valentine’s Day, 2012 will be one to remember. It’ll be sexy, complex full of surprises, somewhat haunted but ultimately, it will be fun!

As for the day’s intricacies, Venus (love) is mashed up with the outer planets, Uranus (shock) and Pluto (depth and intensity).  Old lovers can pop up.  So can new lovers and some people will suffer (or enjoy) both situations simultaneously.  If you wonder how, have you never been on a date and run into your ex?  What about a new man who invites you somewhere you used to go with an old love?

Astropost » Pholus and Saturn when you retire?

January 31st, 2012 @ 12:23 pm by Astropost

Today it is the 74th birthday of Queen Beatrix and just like every year there is speculation about her possible abdication in favor of her son Willem-Alexander. The previous abdications were with Saturn ‘around’. But that doesn’t mean that every time that Saturn is of importance in the chart of a queen, she is about to finish her job. For example: you need to be old enough:)!

zodiac astrology dressYesterday I had a consultation with a Pisces client and while she identifies with her Sun sign, she is a Capricorn rising with ruler Saturn part of a stellium in conjunct her ascendant and anyway you turn it, this woman is a Saturn figure. She is an parent / authority figure, plain and simple.

Other people are very Plutonian. You can’t get anywhere near them without being changed on a cellular level.

Others are strongly aligned with Jupiter. They cheer and expand you. They take you places you have never been… encourage you towards adventure.

Neptune types teach you to dream and escape the mundane, Mercurial people teach you think, something underrated, I’d say.

Moon types nurture and Venus types offer comfort, art, beauty and relationship.

Mars is a brave hero and solar types show us how to shine and …

Paper MoonIn general the second house is ruled by Venus and shows the very basic template for our personal values. Venus rules two signs: Libra and Taurus. Libra is in tune with the relationship aspect of Venus and Taurus with resources. It is Taurus that is associated with the second house realm, Taurus that is known for the slow-moving tenacity that is associated with the deeply ingrained qualities of personal values. Values show what is important to an individual, what is deemed positive or negative. “Values” show how one ranks the importance of what they innately believe to be truth.

PROGRESSED MOON IN SCORPIO CONJUNCT NATAL URANUS

BREAKING THROUGH THE WEIRDNESS

I’ve broken a large jar of pumpkin butter and my favorite water-glass within the last two days. It seemed as if both the jar and glass literally jumped out of my hands! Every so often it seems I’ll go through an accidental ‘breaking’ phase. Once I break one glass, I can almost be certain within the next several days something else will break…this has been the pattern I’ve become conscious of as of late. These breaks have been quite intense, imagine a huge jar just busting loose! It took such a heavy fall I actually felt sorry for it! Lately I have been feeling the need to ‘bust loose’ more than usual. When the progressed Moon hits one’s natal Uranus, I think it’s important to be extra conscious of …

The Moon in Taurus needs peace but it’s not likely to get it with Venus and Mars facing off.

“Couple in the next room
Bound to win a prize
They’ve been goin’ at it all night long
Well I’m tryin’ to get some sleep
But these motel walls are cheap
Lincoln duncan is my name
And here’s my song, here’s my song…:

Is there conflict in your life right now? Are you going toe to toe with someone?

” We have already been given everything we need; our task is to assemble it and use it in the appropriate way. Nothing is meaningful as long as we perceive only separate fragments. But as soon as the fragments come together into a synthesis, a new entity emerges, whose nature we could not have foreseen by considering the fragments alone.”
-Piero Ferrucci from “What We May Be”

As I progress through my astrological career, here’s one of the most perplexing themes that I’ve noticed: on the whole, as a society we don’t give ourselves anywhere near the credit we deserve for our depth, complexity and for the multi-dimensional facets of our humanness.

In fact, some of us even appear to prefer labels; to be put into nice comfortable boxes complete with a “kit” full of goodies that we need to …

Star Struck » To Have and to Hold: Moon in Taurus

January 31st, 2012 @ 4:56 am by Star Struck

The Moon continues to light the fertile fields of Taurus today. We are connected to what we value the most now. Luna’s Resolve To touch and be touched; to languish in the love of appetite and appetite of love; to count All of This as a true blessing – this is what I will hold [...]
