While the Sun is in zodiac sign Capricorn, planet Saturn, as ruler of that sign could be said to be “in its element”. Astrologer Ingrid Lind wrote that Saturn corresponds with the side of a character that is respected, or feared, rather than loved. Sense of duty, responsibility, caution, commonsense, sobriety, punctuality – all that good stuff is the reserve of Saturn. Saturn, aka Chronos, Greek

Mars retrograde 2011-2012You may have heard that Mars is getting ready to turn retrograde, an event that only occurs every two years or so.  Mars is known as a malefic in traditional astrology signifying bad luck and loss (Mars is the “lesser malefic” and Saturn is the “greater malefic”), but in my work a strong Mars is absolutely essential for good fortune and for good health.

Mars symbolizes our drive and inspiration, and the need each of us have for certain experiences.  We need food to eat and experience hunger: that hunger is Mars in action.  We have sexual drives that demand satisfaction: that demand for satisfaction is Mars.  We need to feel that our loved ones reciprocate our affection: that need is Mars.  When we are excited about going for a walk in the woods, that excitement is Mars.  When we…

Star Struck » The Daily Planets

December 28th, 2011 @ 2:48 pm by Star Struck

What a dreamy day it is! The Moon cuddles up to imaginative Neptune in Aquarius before drifting into her void of course. When Luna reaches the waters of Pisces, the dream state continues. But, as the Sun inches towards its union with Pluto in the wee hours, what’s fueling those dreams?

moonpiebabyWhen my youngest was born I didn’t follow astrology yet. My husband was living out of town, starting a new job, so I decided to acquiesce to the doctor’s demand that I be induced. I have a Capricorn Moon and it’s not the easiest placement. Had I understood that then, I would not have induced under a Capricorn Moon. But I did, and my daughter is a GEM… not a Gemini, but a jewel! When we know better, we do better, but I don’t wish things were different. So when my sister’s doctor starting talking about scheduling her for her baby’s induction I was concerned, but not too concerned.

In honor of the Capricorn Lunar phase, where we are all climbing up and getting a higher perspective on our life’s assets and deficts, I thought I would offer a helpful link. Especially now on the crescent phase of the moon where we typically receive information.

Thank you, Marianne, who turned me on to this paricular link at Carolyn Myss’s site.

Take a look at each chakra and see if you have any health bumps in the corresponding chakra. You can click on each chakra and will find a list of helpful questions. Remember Capricorn is where we act like a CEO and cooly judge and manage those things that are effective and fire those things that are not working. I think you may find some helpful information that can improve your 2012.

People with Aries in their chart are challenged to form supportive partnerships and play well with others. To a client…

“…I work with a lot of people and your mail stands out for it’s elegance and it’s honesty. I think if you go in this direction and work to hone this angle, you’ll be richly rewarded, not just professionally but personally. The thing is, you’ve got to satisfy your need for fight and challenge, outside of your partnership if possible. Basically, find someone who will be on your side and you on theirs and then commit not to fire on each other…”

How are you other Aries dealing with Saturn Libra?

rice-puddingI am a Pisces, and boy can I spot bad Pisces. I’m not saying I’m good Pisces all the time. Those Pisces are so rare that they have whole religions devoted to them. But everyone has Pisces in their chart somewhere, in some house at least, as well as a Neptune somewhere. So in some regard, we all deal with Pisces (Neptune) in ourselves and with each other. I think I just had a revelation (Pisces Mercury) about how to deal.

Tracys Astro Salon » The week ahead

December 28th, 2011 @ 9:10 am by Tracys Astro Salon

There is not a lot of outer planet activity this week. Tomorrow (12/28) the Sun will conjunct Pluto which puts the emphasis on evolution. Maybe a snarky money day. How are you empowered? See what comes up on 12/28 that reminds you of your abilities and managing skills.

And on January 1 there is a Mars/Mercury aspect. Watch your conversation. It is not necessary for you to tell everyone what you think, unless you are looking for a fight. Take care with your driving. Plan time, do not rush anywhere. Ideally, you will take this energy and clean out your desk drawer. Or try to finish that book that you wanted to finish all last year.

If you feel scattered today, don’t worry. It’s not just you. That’s because later in the day the Moon moves into diffusion-inspiring Pisces, soon after it unites with boundaryless Neptune.  An ethereal energy sweeps in. Just go with the flow and let your intuition guide you.

With the Sun uniting with transformative Pluto, where this journey may take you is down a pathway that you haven’t visited in a while. There’s a chance that issues you’ve turned a blind eye to may resurface and cry out for attention. While being compassionate with yourself, give them a voice. Lift up the rug, see what’s underneath, meet it, greet it, and embrace it–so that you can sweep it away. An inevitable sense of freedom and a feeling of wholeness will likely outweigh any “momentary” discomfort that looking at what you’ve been hiding…

The Moon in Aquarius conjuncts Neptune as it trines Saturn in Libra and sextiles Jupiter in Taurus. Many will be inspired to innovate and gift people with real love (or money). It’s quite nice but people are still going to fight over beliefs.

To understand Mars in Virgo squaring Mercury in Sagittarius, imagine a librarian fighting with a university professor.
