Here it is folks!  2012!
The long awaited, long maligned year that the Mayan Calendar ends. Though I don’t personally believe most of the hype around this event, I do think it signifies a turning point for the human race and the planet we live on.
The waxing (growing) Moon today crosses Uranus in the warrior sign of Aries today…  squaring the Sun in Capricorn and activating the Uranus Pluto square. An interesting signature to begin the year with.
The coming exact square between Uranus and Pluto in June 2012 is a powerful marker for the great change and upheaval that is building everywhere.
At this fulcrum point, we may take one more pause,  one last in-breath, before we breath-out into 2012.
The gap we just had between Christmas and New Years was like an extended Solstice

Happy New Year!

May 2012 be filled with joy, beauty, illumination, love, and prosperity on every level as well as everything you hope and wish for.

This year starts out with the Moon in starting-out Aries. It’s a great day to usher in new beginnings, setting intentions for what you want to manifest this year.

Namaste.

I’ve had so little time for this blog this year, I’m still amazed (and grateful) that people seem to still be subscribing to it…! Thank you! 2011 — what a year for everyone! In all, I would say that I’ve had a good one in spite of the chaos and anxiety swirling everywhere. I’ve tried [...]

Cosmic Potential » Happy New Year! It’s 2012!

December 31st, 2011 @ 4:35 pm by Cosmic Potential

Happy New Year to you all!

The much speculated (and dreaded) 2012 is finally here.
The myth of 2012 apocalypse is due to the abrupt termination of the Mayan calendar at 2012, causing a wave of panic to spread across the globe.

Why did it stop there?  Is it indicating the end of the world?
There have been speculations that the Mayans had to make an unexpected move or even got suddenly wiped out as a civilisation, hence unable to continue with their predictions.
I personally don’t think it is the end of us this year, though there are some intense aspects in store for us earthlings in the coming months….

But let’s not worry about that on the first day of the new year.  The Moon in Aries pulls the attention

Sankofa birdI like the principle of the Sankofa Bird, which says that in order to understand the future we must understand the past.  When I see a new client I always go back over the past five years or so to see where they’ve been before I can help them to see what the future might hold, and the same holds true for global predictions.  The Greeks held the same principle in their god Janus, who looks both forwards and backwards and rules the month of January – the first month of the year.

To understand what happened in 2011 we have to go back to early 2008 when Pluto entered Capricorn and began the contraction that is now spreading around the world and creating one economic crisis after another as country after country implements…

Star Struck » The Daily Planets

December 31st, 2011 @ 4:34 pm by Star Struck

You won’t need to rattle your noisemakers to welcome the new year. The Moon is in Aries today, and that’s noise enough. There’s a lot of energy in today’s vibe, though not a lot of focus, since the Moon makes no classic aspects to other planets. When Aries energy surges to the fore issues of [...]

Year’s end is neither an end nor a beginning but a going on, with all the wisdom that experience can instill in us. (Hal Borland).Last New Year’s Eve I posted some predictions for 2011 from around the net and via my tarot deck. (Relevant post is HERE). birthdayfodonOn the last day of the year the Moon moves from the last sign of the zodiac, Pisces, into the first, Aries. What a perfect metaphor: Out with the old- in with the new. The day starts in an atmosphere of universal connectedness and moves to a mood of fiery action. The mood picks up fire and speed applying into an aspect of ease with Mercury in Sagittarius and an opportunity for the aesthetic charge of humanitarian pleasantry from Venus in Aquarius. In the immortal words of the song used in the animated movie “Madagascar”: I like to move it, move it.
