satori on ElsaElsa » Astrology And Body-Image

November 28th, 2011 @ 6:05 am by satori on ElsaElsa

LionessHow you look and how you THINK you look are two distinct things. How you look relates most closely to the ascendant, the rising sign, and its condition. Another factor is the placement of the ruling planet, the planet that rules the rising sign. How you think you look is impacted by these same factors but is more subtle. Your attitudes about your own appearance draw on your personal planets as well, even if they’re not in direct aspect.

I have Leo rising which is a proud sign, dramatic. Leo risings tend to have dramatic looks and often dramatic opinions of their looks. Neptune squares my ascendant. Chiron quincunxes. My view of my body is clouded by illusion, changeable, and is complicated by past wounding. My ascendant ruler is the Sun in Pisces, more Neptune.

Earth signs are emphasized today with the Moon, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Pluto in Taurus, Virgo or Capricorn.

The moon in Capricorn squares Saturn, further grounding the collective as emotions are defined and probably contained.

There is a wild, independent (and perhaps crazy) streak out there, courtesy the Sun’s trine to Uranus in Aries but most people will operate in a practical way, with a desire to accomplish something.

From a consultation:

“To run around frantically during a Saturn transit is going to be counterproductive. This is a long distance run and you have to pace yourself. Think about climbing a challenging mountain. You do not want to waste energy running around in a circle…”

Do realize there are times when the best way to progress is to slow down?

A couple of years ago, I had the pleasure of making the intellectual acquaintance of Richard Idemon, an Astrologer who passed away in 1987. I picked up a copy of his book “Through The Looking Glass: A Search For The Self In The Mirror of Relationships.”  I will be expanding on some of his ideas in tonight’s blog post.

One of the first ideas which captured my attention was that of our most fundamental need in human relationships being the revalidation of our basic myths.

We all have a “story”, or mythology of sorts that we carry around with us. This basic psychic ground is a significant contributor to our sense of self.  As a result, the patterns which we consciously or unconsciously create are those which are going to keep co-signing on our basic myth.

Those relationships…

Remember that when we come up against restrictions, it’s not necessarily negative. Sometimes when we brush up against proverbial closed doors or signals of limitations, it doesn’t have to spell ill consequences nor a blocking of one’s life’s trajectory. In fact, these experiences can be boundary shaping, allowing us to more efficiently use our resources to craft a well-lived life. Instead of taking “No”s as a signal of defeat instead take it as a signal of another direction from where to seek a “Yes.” A “No:can be boons to help us “Know” and forge a path that will allow us to best invest our resources so that we can gain further wisdom, fulfillment and joy.

What inspires this notion today? Nothing other than the efficient Capricorn Moon squaring structure-giving Saturn.

About a week after the resolutions and the parties to help bring into focus another year, the 18 Cancer 25 Full Moon at 11:30 pm PST on January 8th 2012 begins to subtlety emphasize the fact, that we are all connected and are not alone on our journey in this life.  With the moon near the end of the second decan of Cancer (ten degree increment dividing the 360 degree zodiac), and practicing the method of Lilly and Morin in using the essential dignities and fixed stars in delineating any chart.  The message in the cold dark night sky is directing us to aim and think differently then what we have been doing, and to restructure our concepts of our place in this world, both physically and spiritually.  Whether we believe in a higher being or not, our…

Cold November rain. © Pat Paquette, 2011.

Mercury retrograde is in full swing, no doubt about it. The traffic hasn’t been too bad here (OK, I didn’t say that) but communications have been a nightmare. I’ve had to remind myself several times a day of my maxim that otherwise intelligent people say and do stupid things while Mercury is retrograde.

I’m just keeping my fingers crossed that no real damage will be done before the little biter has returned direct – in other words, no permanent breakups, at least not due to misunderstandings.

That said, there are going to be irreparable rifts. That’s not so much due to Mercury but to the eclipses. If you had a sudden breakup, or even a not-so-sudden one (you probably saw it coming) that occurred within a few days of last Friday’s…

Tracys Astro Salon » Chiron in Pisces

November 27th, 2011 @ 11:39 pm by Tracys Astro Salon

Back in April of 2010, Chiron moved into Pisces.

Here’s what I wrote back then:

Chiron’s big move

And then there is Chiron. We have spent a lot of the last few years talking about Chiron in Aquarius. To me it was exceptionally difficult because I have Chiron in Aquarius in my natal chart. As we know Chiron is the self inflicted warrior. He steps in the shit and then has to clean it off himself.

While Chiron has been in Aquarius we’ve been working out much energy with our friends and associates and like minded groups. I have found this to be challenging in many ways. Just recently, I saw a friend who I have not seen in a year or so and on her car was a bumper sticker that read “Which are you drinking?” and there was

From a consultation:

“You are being undermined here. Sorry, but I have seen this pattern with you in the past. Are you happy? If so, screw those people. Don’t let people outside yourself dictate who you are and what you like and don’t like. Saturn in Libra – define your own tastes! Seriously,  XXXXX. Don’t let other people pick your man for you!”

Do you choose your partner(s) or do you have a subcontractor do  this for you?
