By now, most of us have seen the 1992 movie “Boomerang” starring Eddie Murphy, Robin Givens and Halle Berry. While reading a question today  on elsaelsa.com, (I highly recommend her) regarding the symbolism of the Moon versus Venus in a Man’s chart, this movie definitely provides clues about how these two planets operate. When it comes to relationships, both Venus and the Moon play a prominent role in the chart of a Man.

Venus is what attracts us. On some level, it’s even what we pursue. What we chase after. If the planet were food, it would be a doughnut or a slice of cheese cake. Venus turns our heads and stirs our senses. It’s Darius Lovehall showing up at Nina Mosley’s door in “Love Jones” after getting her address off of a check she used to buy some music at the record…

Sun is now in Sagittarius – as it is each year between 22 November and 21 December – with lee-way of a day in either direction. I thought I’d already completed a year of excerpts from Ingrid Lind’s out-of-print little book Astrology and Commonsense, but on checking I find I’ve still a couple of signs to go before completing the zodiac – I began in January with my own Sun sign, Aquarius.So…..

I  feel Transformed in so many ways. Pluto’s transit opposite my Moon is pretty much finished. The stripping away of… what? It’s difficult to describe, but whatever it is, something is gone. This Uranus station has me feeling zapped, charged, possibly even burned out, but it still feels positive to me. Neptune is heading towards Pisces and with Chiron there too, it does feel like home to me. Last time Chiron was in Pisces, I was a child and now Chiron is there again Trine my IC and Moon, and I am feeling healed at home, connecting with my family and roots.

We have the Celebration of Life for Valerie to attend and it is happening on the day that Uranus stations direct. I am not sure how much I will post here in December. I am gathering my thoughts,…

Mars in Virgo squares the Sun in Sagittarius and the full Moon in Gemini, hotting things up for the lunar eclipse at 18 Gemini.  Heads up to the fourth mutable sign, Pisces which will catch a lot of heat.

Expect people express themselves in ways that are assertive or cutting. This is for good or ill as surgery saves lives and cutting a new path in the mind can be life-changing.

Astrologer, James Braha’s phrase, “mistake of the intellect” comes to mind.  Everyone has wrong-thinking about something and this great opportunity to fix something like that.

I am excited about this opportunity. You?

“Sister to the distant, yet risin’ star….Is your name Yemaya? Oh hell nah, it’s got to be Oshun….” – Larenz Tate “Brother To The Night” (A Blues For Nina)

Venus.

Yes, some of us know her by this name.  In tandem, she is Ma’at, the constantly achieved condition of and requirements for the ideal world, society and person.  Rightness, balance and harmony permeates her being. She is Ana, Anat, Aphrodite, Astarte, Ashtar, Aurora, Sachar, Eos, Ina  or Ishtar.

In the Yoruba realm, she is Oshun (Osun), the personification of beauty and sensuality. Not the pursuer, but the pursued. So lovely and enchanting that you don’t even have to set your gaze upon her to appreciate the form. Delicacy, refinement and taste are never strangers to her door.  Oshun has reduced feminine wiles to a science, and could’ve written Robert Greene’s “The Art…

” Men are not prisoners of fate, but only prisoners of their own minds.”
-Franklin Roosevelt

Recently, I watched “The Adjustment Bureau”, a film starring Matt Damon, Emily Blunt and Anthony Mackie.

As I often love to do, I started looking for connections. The threads that would unite the general theme of the movie and the Astrological philosophy which I will share, quite enthusiastically to anyone who has the desire to know. After watching for a while, the light bulb went off. I love it when that happens.

First, I would like to give everyone a general overview of the film. While it’s not complete, I think it should be fitting enough to move us in the direction in which we’re headed.

In the movie, Matt Damon plays David Norris, a New York Congressman who’s making a run for Senate. While his…

O Lightning » Use the Pragmatic

November 29th, 2011 @ 12:24 pm by O Lightning

It’s not a day to flake Y’all.

Pragmatic.

It kinda sounds like it ought to be a small machine.
Check out my new pragmatic, that Sh*t really works!

Is it completely lame that I have no idea what this song is talking about?!
Is that more permissible when Mercury is going backward???
It just somehow fits the mood.
If anyone knows what he is singing will you tell me in the comments?! Please?

Ok. How about this, then?

but he smells like ranch dressing… hahaha…

I guess you keep your eye on the big picture after all.

We are talking about integrating: Mars in Virgo,
taking care of the details,
with Sun and Mercury in Sagittarius
Your mind and heart in tune with where

Arguably, in this day and age, we have access to more information than ever before regarding spirituality, holistic health practices, and various tools for evolution and self development such as astrology, tarot, feng shui, meditation techniques, dream work and astral projection.

Because we’re faced with such a wide variety of options, it’s of paramount importance to employ our powers of critical analysis and discrimination wisely.

We would be selling ourselves and our brains short if we hopped on every bandwagon which proclaims ”peace, love and light”, or followed every trail of incense smoke, complete with shea butter rubdowns and wheat grass shots.

It’s absolutely essential that we trust our inner voices when confronted with bundles of rhetoric which do not encourage any behavioral changes, yet are cosmetically and aesthetically pleasing.

I quote from Dr. Amos Wilson:

“There is nothing wrong

I started writing spontaneously in the fall of 2000. I’ve written every day since, minus about 25 days. That means I have taken 1 month off out of 132 months. 1 month off in 11 years.

It often very easy for me write. Sometimes it’s a pure joy but not when Saturn is messin’ with Mercury. Over the last 11 years, I had to suffer Saturn’s transit through my Mercury-ruled 6th house, Saturn through Mercury-ruled, Virgo and I have just wrapped up Saturn transiting conjunct my natal Mercury. I’m tired, I’ll tell you that but I am starting to see that I am free now.
