head in the clouds“Upon Pondering” by Brooke Shaden via brookeshaden.com

Head in the clouds. Wandering around, dazed and confused. Well-known potheads. Lack of career direction. Wanting a career that is glamorous and frees you from everyday responsibilities. Dreams of being an actor. Wanting the kind of position in society that will free you from domestic life. Wanting to merge with your public identity. Wanting to become whatever people think you are. Inability to accurately assess your achievements. The American Dream. Wanting to live out The American Dream. Believing that you can be anything you want – you even can be president if you want to. People consistently misinterpret who you really are. You project out a cloud that obscures the real you. People project their image of who they think you are onto your public identity. You have public magnetism. You have something…

When Mercury and Uranus hook up in a natal chart, unique and innovative thought which seeks to release itself from the straightjacket of convention is at the forefront. I think Craig Mack said it best: “here comes the brand new flava in ya ear….. time for new flava in ya ear…. im kickin new flava in ya ear.”

Every planetary placement or aspect in our chart can serve us as an opportunity. With Mercury-Uranus, we have the continuous chance to break free from mental habit patterns which have only attempted to submerge us into rigidity. Mercury represents our thought process and what we think about. Uranus symbolizes dynamic change which doesn’t seek to adhere to the status quo.

If you have this contact within your birth chart, there is a huge upside. Not only can you shock and shake…

A reader asked me to write about Saturn – Neptune aspect.  Let’s begin by reviewing the keywords for both planets.

Key concepts for Saturn and Neptune

Saturn: Practicality, goals, ambition, real world accomplishment, maturity, necessary control, discipline.

Neptune: Dreams, vision, inspiration, transcendent experience, creativity, surrender, spirituality.

In Between Two Worlds

Someone whose horoscope highlights a Saturn – Neptune aspect may initially feel ungrounded, like she doesn’t quite belong fully in this world.  She may be too dreamy to be 100% realistic, yet too practical to remain a dreamer all of her life.

The integration of key concepts above produces combinations such as: Practical dreamer; goals with vision; real world accomplishment using one’s creativity; spiritual discipline; dreams and visions are grounded in realistic terms.  At best, Saturn’s contact with Neptune suggests a potential to bring into real world our transcendent…

I just had my Mercury Return for the year and am enjoying the mental lift it brings. One of the many thoughts zipping around in my brain had to do with natal Mercury and how we process information. Does your mind work at light speed or very deliberately? Are you open to new ideas or do you prefer to stick with the tried and true? Where your Mercury falls in your chart, the sign it’s in and how it is aspected answer those questions.

My Mercury is in fixed Scorpio in my twelfth house, [...]

Mars in Leo opposes Neptune in Aquarius on November 6th, 2011.  This is a tricky one and so potent, I already see it in play, big time.

You’ll see people fight (Mars) by deceiving (Neptune). We often talk about “gaslighting” on this blog (tag) and that is one form of this.  I’m talking about being tricked into your own self-doing or even tricking yourself into sacrifice which damages you. This is an aspect of a martyr. It’s confused (Neptune) action (Mars). It’s a drunk firing at the wrong person for the wrong reason, while trying to help.   Well, gee. Thanks.

As we make our way through the sometimes swampy terrain of Scorpio, today the Sun (in Scorpio) opposes Jupiter retrograde in Taurus. These two signs are fixed. Yet even with their fixed natures, the Scorpio side of the polarity is agitating for some type of inner change (which may very well manifest externally). If you’re [...]

Matthew Lillard, 13 GhostsI see two major formations in the sky hotting up over the weekend and the Moon moves between them. In addition, there’s a t-square with Mars opposing Neptune and Mercury-Venus squaring from Scorpio. I love the broad category of horror movies and this weekend seems to span them all. The t-square is very like a horror movie. The way to get the most out of love this weekend is to approach it as you would a horror movie. To my mind there are two types of horror movies and two types of characters that survive and thrive. First you’ve got the straightforward type and second the ones that employ humor. You’ve also got two types of survivors, the hero/heroines and the intelligent, quirky smartasses.

How free are you? I mean *really free*. Could you leave it all behind, whatever you have? Your things, your home, your people, whoever is around you? And for what would you give it all up?

I’m thinking about Jupiter Retrograde and how I don’t believe the retrograde cancels out Jupiter’s benevolence and that although some may think Jupiter transits are overrated… I don’t think so. But maybe that’s because I have such a Virgo-heavy chart which squares Sagittarius/Jupiter.  Any teeny tiny shred of Jupiter ain’t no bite size to me; it’s a full meal.

Now I do have a Jupiter Venus sextile, the closest aspect in my chart. But my Venus is in the hidden and mysterious 12th House!  It’s hard to see!

But back to my original question: how free are you? How attached are you to what…
