Lauren Lesko » Letting Go

September 26th, 2011 @ 1:46 pm by Lauren Lesko

“you, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe deserve your love and affection.”

Autumn is the season for letting go of what has passed, and letting go of old thoughts and feelings nourish new growth in consciousness in the same way that falling leaves nourish new growth in the earth. This Autumnal Equinox promises harmony in our relationships but not without explosive actions and disruptive dramas on our path to creatively resolving how we relate with one another. When the Sun enters Libra the light of day and the dark of night are of equal measure insuring that the light and the dark aspects of our psyche are as well. If we are lucky this month we may glimpse the truth of mystics and experience for ourself that one is of the other.

The Sun is the…

Lauren Lesko » Radiant Light

September 26th, 2011 @ 1:46 pm by Lauren Lesko

“If you could get rid of yourself  just once the secret of secrets would open to you”

Pluto is that aspect in our psyche that rids ourself of dead or dying aspects of ourself. Pluto is farthest from the light of our consciousness and closest to the core of our primordial instincts, which is why the process of psychological death and rebirth that Pluto promises often feels like it is coming from forces outside ourself and beyond our control, rather than within ourself and actualized by ourself. Pluto, the celestial messenger of mercy, swiftly delivers a death blow to our psyche removing thought patterns and emotional attachments in ways that rarely feel merciful. Under the influence of Pluto we are forced to face our demons and journey into the darkness of our soul and stripped bare of our…

This class will be about my favorite topic – relationships. We’ll look at the the charts to determine what it is that is creating challenge for the individual and what they can do about it.

People who sign up for the class will have the option of offering their chart for dissection or alternately you can sit in the rafters and watch. I guarantee you’ll learn a lot of astrology, a lot in general, plus you’ll be entertained.

ElsaElsa » Ruby Ridge (Unusual Life Experience)

September 26th, 2011 @ 8:51 am by ElsaElsa

We watched this movie the other night. I can’t recommend it even though it’s got a great cast (Randy Quaid, Laura Dern and a very young, Kirsten Dunst spewing shocking racial stuff).

The movie pretty much sucked because there was no telling what was real and what wasn’t. For example, Randy Weaver is ex- Special Forces but he was portrayed as an ineffectual idiot, with his wife pulling the strings.  Quite incredibly, his young daughter appears to call the shots once her mother is killed and it’s bewildering.

We happened upon the TV show Restaurant Impossible quite accidentally while channel surfing this summer. The British accent of the guy who appeared to be in charge of proceedings interested me, so we watched that show, and a few weekly episodes thereafter. The presenter, a British-born chef, Robert Irvine is, each week, tasked with re-vamping an unsuccessful restaurant whose owners are about

SaturnSaturn contacts in synastry are relationship glue, attachments that hold it together. They also show restriction and pressure, restriction to the energy of the planet they aspect and pressure to learn and mature. Sometimes pressure will mold things into a more mature form and other times it crushes or pushes away. In any case it brings serious attention to whatever it touches.

David (30 August 1738)

It will come as no surprise to see that the work of artists born under Virgo is consistently detailed, crafted, technically excellent and polished to a wonderful degree. Nor will it surprise you that all these painters could draw beautifully.

Ingres (29 August 1780)

Jacques Louis David documented the French Revolution as it took place, creating the iconic images of the period, for example the Death of Marat. His vision was dramatic, cinematic and glamourous. He helped manufacture the image of Napoleon, Emperor of Europe.

Jean Dominique Ingres, in the following generation, had the same highly polished finish to his work, but much of his subject matter was far more inward, imaginative. He was…

As the time seems to zoom by, the last Mercury Retrograde cycle of the year begins November 24th 2011 at 20 Sagittarius 06, until it turns direct on December 13th 2011 at 03 Sagittarius 52.  This period of time needs to be handled with caution, with carefulness and with retrospection to avoid glitches, personal misunderstandings, delayed, flawed, disrupted communications with ourselves and others.  Although I am certain there always will be problems and mishaps, I do believe much of the frustrations and stresses we experience during this retrograde is sometimes caused by our own negligence in paying attention to the particulars.  The area that seems to be highlighted during this interlude is connected with our belief system, our optimism, our legal affairs, and our long distance travels and explorations.  Mercury in Sagittarius is in detriment, and needs our concentration…

After the great success of the “Astromykonos 2000″ we decided to repeat the experience and organize a new International Astrological Conference at the Greek island of Mykonos in the summer of 2001 (8-10 June). As the key speaker we invited the foremost Astrologer, prolific writer and rich and exuberant as a character Noel Tyl. The second key speaker was the famous French astrologer Elizabeth Teissier.

(Elizabeth Teissier and Noel Tyl)

I actually organized this conference (with the full support of a benefactor of Greek Astrology – and excellent Astrologer him – herself – who prefers to remain anonymous). I had invited several Greek astrologers as speakers, which in the end did not participate. Unfortunately the non-profit “Astromykonos” conferences were not seen by a very good eye by the huge commercial astrological circuit in Greece, as they did not
