Kelly Surtees » Cosmic Crazy: Mercury/Uranus

September 27th, 2011 @ 4:28 am by Kelly Surtees

Does life feel a bit hectic for you? Are you finding schedules or plans changing unexpectedly? Are things being said that surprise, shock or liberate you?

It’s been a full on few days since the Equinox, as the Sun, crossing into Libra, a cardinal sign, activated both unpredictable Uranus (this past weekend) and will soon square off with power planet Pluto.

Before the Sun squares Pluto, curious Mercury, who’s following closely in the Sun’s footsteps, faces off with Uranus (by  opposition). This is a classic cosmic ‘foot in mouth’ alignment, that, while encouraging the spontaneous sharing of ideas, brings a reminder to consider the ripple effect sharing unconventional perspectives may have.

Mercury is a planet linked to communication, business and general organisation so the next 24 – 48 hours are likely to bring changes + twists and turns in these areas of…

Lunar Living » Libra New Moon – September 27, 2011

September 27th, 2011 @ 4:16 am by Lunar Living

Libra New Moon
Power and Manipulation are both integral pieces of the T-square with this New Moon. Collectively, we want everything to be fair, but the few who have the power are doing everything possible to force us to remember that change will not be delivered cheaply. Holding on to some personal possessions that we have, may not be so easy, either.
There is an intriguing trapezoid with Mars to the New Moon, Jupiter and Pluto. The Lunar Living article will explain more about the interactions and the disjointed impact this aspect pattern will create for us. The connection will push for personal security and societal change, simultaneously. The question remains as to which direction this transit will take us. Women are likely to interpret the energies one

I set my orange flowers in a boat and send them off to heaven.
I feel heaven raining down in drops of orange-scented love.
–Gabby Turner

This song is meant to be sung with the first line repeating 8 times, followed by 8 repetitions of the second line. That form is inspired by the singing I’ve been doing at the Kirtan and Meditation I go to twice a month. Devotional singing/chanting does not need variety, so much as devotion! The meaning is not lost through repetition, it is transcended, so that the true meaning can be reached, the meaning beyond the words, or the sounds. I would post an .mp3 file of me singing this for you (so you could hear the melody) but I feel you readers have earned the right to transcend my broken singing voice. The…

Kelly Surtees » Libra New Moon

September 26th, 2011 @ 11:59 pm by Kelly Surtees

September 27 New Moon 5 degrees Libra

Some of the indecisiveness typical under a Libra New Moon is given the heave ho by confident Mars, who makes a supportive sextile link to the New Moon.  It’s possible to push forward with personal plans while still keeping the peace – all that’s required is a little negotiation.

Mercury, also in Libra, provides diplomacy and tact. If you’re open/willing to work with others, your dreams might be one step closer to reality.

A positive Venus/Saturn link shortly after this New Moon shows that a new cycle in mature and conscious relating is possible.  Boundaries in love can create more affection – try it and see!

New Understanding

This New Moon in Libra offers the opportunity for true forward motion since Mercury’s last Retrograde passage. This lunation equally brings initiations building from energies relating to Saturn, who has been slowly and surely requesting responsibility within The Scales since last fall. Be open to a path of friendly light to now bring forth diplomatic, tolerant, and sincere feelings throughout this Waxing Phase until 11 October.

Moon enters Libra
27 September 12:51am EDT to 29 September 12:05pm EDT
When you have our Lunar Lady passing through the balance of The Scales, we have the ideal opportunity for comparison and co-operation to emerge within our lives. By tapping into a sensitive instinct, there isn’t a better Moon passage to gravitate to peaceful, hospitable, charming, and friendly feelings under. The emotional imagination becomes refined, as it

The spotlight is on Libra this week with the Sun, Mercury, Venus and Saturn plus the New Moon in Libra. The cardinal signs rule right now because both Aries and Capricorn (where Uranus and Pluto currently live) are cardinal signs too. People will be pushing their agendas but in a Libra manner . . . “you first – no, YOU first”.

All of Libra’s strengths and weakness will be on display from their habit of taking plenty of time to make decisions to insisting on equity and justice for everyone. Due to the lack [...]

My husband told me this morning that he wished he could go back in time and fix some things about my early education. For one thing, he said he would have forced me to take naps in 1st grade, the way he did because he does not like my inability to nap and my lack of appreciation for an afternoon nap. He also said, he thinks I should have been taught to embroider – forced to slowly make all these little stitches. I stared at him, horrified.

My partner makes me laugh – a lot. He has Mercury, the trickster, and Uranus, an even zanier fellow, conjunct on his Ascendant. Today he sent me two emails.

The first contained a link to the Tate gallery in London. To get it click here.

The second contained this message (which I feel may have a significant impact on our relationship.)

“From now on the glass of water on my bedside table will be called:Run Rabbit/Pelican Crossing

Analysing the spatial and metatextual connections between a 1942 NAAFI barndance in Bedford and contemporary pedestrian management systems. This work can only properly be experienced by me when I am asleep.

Wasn’t he lovely.

The zangly-jangly configuration of planets that’s been causing us all so much surprise, change and more change this year is zapping the Sun right now and the New Moon at the end of the week. So be prepared for some, well, novelty.

What’s more Mars is tweaking Pluto’s nose, which is bound to put the god of the Underworld in a bit of temper. There are bound to be surprises.

The only way to go these days is with the changes.

But this time around though, there are a couple of pleasant angles, which may show a temporarily smoother way ahead. Even if our beloved leaders fail to pull their collective fingers out and do something, maybe we can.

First of all, Mars the action planet,…
